DAVE GAHAN TO RELEASE NEW DOUBLE A SIDE SINGLE 'BOTTLE LIVING' AND 'HOLD ON' NOVEMBER 4

EXCLUSIVE MUSIC CHOICE® CONCERT TO START AIRING OCTOBER 27

DAVE GAHAN, coming off his successful and acclaimed U.S. tour, will release a double A side single "BOTTLE LIVING/HOLD ON" at retail November 4 on Mute/Reprise Records. Both songs - co-written by GAHAN - are taken from his critically acclaimed debut solo album PAPER MONSTERS, produced by Ken Thomas (Sigur Ros).

"BOTTLE LIVING" was described by Newsday (5/27/03) as a song that "angrily conjures up his own personal demons ('He's living for the bottle, so call before you drown') over a wailing harmonica and an ominous, driving rhythm track that makes it sound like the sequel to 'Personal Jesus.'"

The slow burning "Hold On" - like the album's "A Little Piece" and "Stay" - is compellingly anchored by GAHAN's moody vocals and wrapped in a chamber music arrangement. GAHAN says these particular songs "?sound hopeful because that's what I am. I wanted it all to feel positive in that way. But 'Hold On' especially, for me, has got a message of hope."

The single will also include an Alexander Kowalski remix of "Hidden Houses," another standout track from PAPER MONSTERS.

Meanwhile, GAHAN's current single "I Need You" (Remixes) is #5 on Billboard's Club Play chart and also appears on the publication's Dance Single Sales chart.

In other news, the exclusive MUSIC CHOICE® "PRESENTS DAVE GAHAN" concert special will reach over 44 million households when it airs in over 100 cable systems from October 27 through November 9 and on DIRECTV® throughout the month of November. The 60-minute show, recorded during GAHAN's recent live performance in France, features both his new solo material as well as an assortment of Depeche Mode favorites. For show times in your area, visit MUSICCHOICE.COM or contact your local cable provider.

Looking ahead, the electrifying GAHAN and his band will return to Europe and the U.K. - where they sold-out a tour earlier this year - for a second concert leg running from October 27 to November 30.
